Job Centers are facilities where people can connect to education, training, and employment opportunities. Services are offered on a walk-in basis and a is free of charge. Staff is available for guidance if needed. The Western Wisconsin region has two comprehensive Job Centers, which are located in La Crosse and Tomah. In addition to the services listed below, JOb Centers provide resources for veterans, families, vocational rehabilitation, older workers, and others. Come into your nearest Job Center for help finding work, planning a career, receiving training, or accessing other needed services. Job Centers offer a range of resources to job seekers including:

  • Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA): WIOA program services are available to eligible adults, youth, and dislocated workers. 

  • ​Free job search related computer and Internet access

  • Job Center of Wisconsin employment database

  • Access to labor market information and career exploration resources

  • Resume software and typing tutorials

  • Microsoft self-paced tutorials

  • Fax, copier, and phone access

  • Workshops

  • Adult basic education through the Technical College System

  • Career counseling

  • On-site recruitment and job fairs
